This year BristolSEDS organised a trip to visit Airbus Defense and Space in Stevenage. 30 members awoke bright and early to take a coach from Queen’s building to Stevenage. We arrived in Stevenage in good time so first stopped off at MacDonald’s for some breakfast.
We were then greeted by an Airbus employee and show through and registered in reception. After a quick briefing and welcome, we split off into two groups with one group starting a mick bid activity and the other going for a tour of Airbus’s facilities. The tour included a walk around to see their labs, testing facilities and the famous Mars yard. We then met back up with the other group to enjoy lunch in the canteen before the groups swapped over. The afternoon saw both groups finishing off their bid activities and they then had the chance to present their work to a panel of Airbus experts.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Airbus for hosting us and particularly Tom and Jack for organising the trip and hope to be back next year!
